The Makita DBN500 is a cordless finishing nailer that allows you to attach moldings, panels, and decorative trim neatly without a compressor. The slim 18 ga nail sinks below the surface, leaving only a discreet mark that can be filled with putty in an instant. Nail lengths from 15–50 mm cover everything from baseboards to ceiling panels, and the depth adjustment ensures the nail head is set at the perfect depth regardless of the material. As it's battery-powered, the nailer goes up ladders and into tight corners without hoses, and firing is safely engaged only when the tip is pressed against the surface. The magazine holds one hundred nails, allowing for uninterrupted trim work. Frequently asked questions
Is the nail mark visible on finished trim?
Barely – an 18 ga nail mark is a couple of millimetres and disappears completely with wood filler and paint.
What nails fit the nailer?

Do I need to pre-drill the trim?
No – the nail goes through even thin trim without splitting, which is the nailer's biggest advantage over hand nailing.
Can I nail trim to a concrete wall?
No – 18 ga finish nails are too weak to penetrate hard concrete and will just bend, so attach trim to concrete walls with mounting adhesive or plugs and screws.
Is the nailer enough for ceiling panels?
Yes, with 50 mm nails panels attach solidly to framing – cordless work on ladders is safe without hoses.
